  1. On completion of this SIA training exam, it takes approximately 2 weeks for your certificate to arrive and then you can apply for SIA licence to the Security Industry Authority (SIA) who will then process your SIA licence application form.

  2. In the first instance, they will send you SIA acknowledgement letter indicating that they have received your application form and return your supporting documents with this acknowledgement letter.

  3. You can then approach Security firms for work with this SIA acknowledgement letter. You can work with this letter while you await your SIA badge. But not all Security companies will accept SIA acknowledgement letter.

  4. The SIA runs an "approved contractors' scheme" and it is only the Security companies who are on this scheme that can consider you for work if you meet their criteria. But once you have received your SIA licence card from the SIA you can legally work anywhere in the Security Industry.
